Dr. Caroline W. Chung is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, tear duct system, and face.
She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied neuroscience and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, completed her internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, and went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Chung then completed a two-year ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Baltimore, affiliated with Sinai Hospital and the University of Maryland.
Dr. Chung has received multiple academic and research awards and authored numerous publications and book chapters. She is dedicated to innovative, patient-centered care that restores function while achieving natural, refined aesthetic results. Her clinical expertise includes eyelid and orbital reconstruction, treatment of eyelid malposition, thyroid eye disease, tearing disorders, and periocular cancers, as well as cosmetic eyelid surgery and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation.
In addition to seeing patients at Baltimore Eye Physicians, she also provides care at our partner practice, Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center, located in Annapolis, MD.
Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, exploring the outdoors, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
